Tile

Our tile guy worked super hard on Monday and Tuesday, and the tile is in and looks great! The grout is a big lighter than we had planned, but we are happy with it. It just means we'll have to be extra careful when sealing it so that it doesn't stain when Patrick spills a full plate of spaghetti on the floor.

As a refresher, here is the old tile:

Here is the new tile before grout:

Here is our tile guy Felix, hard at work. If you ever need a tile guy, get his number from me - he is great!

Here is a closeup of the tile before grout:

And here is the kitchen floor after grout. Note that it has not yet been washed so it is still covered in grit and grime... but fear not. You'll be seeing plenty of pictures of it cleaned up, in all its glory, as the kitchen progresses:

Unfortunately Rob (ahem) did not get any photos of the tile in the entryway for reasons I still do not understand. I'll be sure to get some shots the next time I'm at the house and will post them then.

Up next: Electrical. All of the outlets in the kitchen need to be re-wired (something about circuit splits, and code...? It is really all Greek to me), so the electrician is there today pulling wire. Once his work is complete, we'll be calling in the troops to help out with the cabinet building. To my amazement we are still well on schedule! Fingers crossed that this continues.
