Cabinets

A huge amount of cabinet progress was made this weekend. Cabinet progress is a big deal. It is critical to get the cabinets in place so that the granite people can come and take accurate counter measurements. Once they measure, they can cut and deliver the counter, and we get a counter before we move into the house.

I'm not sure I can stress the importance of this quite enough. We have to have a counter before we move into the house. You can't have a sink without a counter, and you can't really have a kitchen without a sink. I lived without a kitchen sink for six weeks during our last kitchen renovation. It was not fun. The counter is the most critical of critical path items in this kitchen. Counter, or perish!

The bulkhead has been drywalled and mudded. There is probably a bit more sanding and mudding to be done, but you can see the general idea.

Lots of other drywall mudding and sanding took place.

And, finally, cabinets were mounted. Cue the choir music.

Here you can see our trusty helper Dave hard at work. He works for beer!

Here is where our fridge will go.

And, the breakfast bar framework is in place.

Thanks for the help, Dave!

Up next: The Pool. Stay tuned!
