I spent Thursday on a full-out packing blitz. Patrick made forts with all the boxes.
His Father joined in on some of the fort action.
There were a LOT of boxes. Thankfully, as you can see in the background, I had some Girl Guide Cookies to help me through the day.
Our movers were fantastic. Anyone in Ottawa looking for movers, I cannot recommend Kineto Van Lines highly enough. We have used them a couple of times, now, and they do not disappoint.
In decorating/renovating news, we bought a new couch. It will be delivered in mid-July. I forgot to get a photo of the display model, so you will just have to wait to see it, but suffice to say it has plenty of room for both of us to stretch out on.
We also brought home a few tile samples to try to choose a backsplash.
Our clear favorite is the one on the far right. However, it is twice the cost of our second choice, the one on the far left. Debate is ongoing.
We got a lot of work done in Patrick's space room.
The wall stickers I got were not, in fact, stickers, but wallpaper-y things that needed to be soaked.
This soaking had the unfortunate side effect of causing the paint on the space wall to run. So, this wall will have to have paint touch-up done fairly soon.
But, Patrick couldn't care less about a bit of paint-dribble. He is thrilled with his space wall.
We also found a cool rocketship to hang from the ceiling, and a retro 'pinball' game named Blasto, which, coincidentally, was the nickname we had for Patrick before he was born.
You can see that he loves his Tintin poster.
Work on the new bannister is well underway.
But let me assure you... having just last night washed a load of dishes in our camping basin in the powder room, for me, the number one priority is getting the kitchen sink working. We have a plumber arriving at 7am tomorrow morning to do just that. All hail the plumber!
